The U.A.E Flag Day is a national occasion where people of the United Arab Emirates remember the efforts of the founders of their State, Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, and their brothers who sacrificed everything for the sake of their nation. It is a day when the national spirit is renewed, and an occasion to reflect on the achievements of the era of the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

All the students wore red, green white and black colored caps and held up tiles of the same color as their caps to make a huge flag formation.

The event was honored by the presence of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He was accompanied by his daughter Sheikha Jalila bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General of the Protocol and Hospitality Department in Dubai and several senior officials.

The UAE flag represents meanings of justice, peace, tolerance, power and moderation, under which all Emiratis live a decent life and enjoy security and stability.

Two students from each of the schools who particaipated had the honour to welcome the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum personally and share the stage with thim while he hoisted the flag. We are proud that amongst them were two students of our school, Mohammed Shabbir Dalal and Simran Salian of Grade 5.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed marked the event by raising the flag on a 12-metre flag pole as the U.A.E National anthem played. The park echoed with the sound of the National Anthem and soared the spirit of patriotism and respect for the nation in each individual present.

As a part of the celebrations in School, the children of Grade 1 and 2 were asked to come in the colors of the UAE flag and a flag formation was done in the football field. At exactly 11 am the UAE flag was hoisted as a mark of respect and patriotism towards UAE.
